Reintroducing plains bison to the Rocky Mountains

It appears Parks Canada is one step closer to restoring wild, free-roaming plains bison to the Rocky Mountains. Environment Minister Peter Kent will be in Banff on Friday (Jan. 27) and he is expected to announce the details of a public consultation process to look at the reintroduction of plains bison to Banff National Park.

Who knows, if all goes well, before long we may see views like these two historical images:
